  • What is the purpose of SmartWeb Ideas
  • The main purpose is to share, comment and vote for ideas so we can collaborate to make SmartWeb even better.
  • What language to write in?
  • We recommend people to write in English so that everyone can understand each others ideas and comments.

    Because this is a user driven forum we cannot garantee that everything is written in English. Therefore we recommend Google Translate as a tool for translating Danish into English. Although this is not 100% accurate it gives a good understanding in most cases.
  • Dos and Don'ts
  • Do:

    • Speak your voice: this forum succeeds when ideas and input is shared.

    • Keep it friendly and fair: the purpose of this community is to share and inspire so show respect to others.

    • Keep it relevant: ask yourself if it's relevant. Users are not allowed to post commercial messages of any kind.

  • What kinds of ideas can I post here?
  • This is a creative environment, basically all ideas are welcome. Most importantly, questions should be relevant to our community. Before you post, please make sure to search for a similar ideas. You can search for ideas by their title or tags.
  • How to write an idea?
  • It is appropriate to phrase your idea as clear as possible, so people will vote and contribute to the idea. Furthermore please follow these guidelines:
    • The headline has to tell the whole story. A good headline "a function to block certain customers", and a bad one would be "Block customers".
    • Use broad terms in the description More information should be broad and could for example include include what is missing or The description should be general
  • How to write a comment?
  • Comments is a great way to build on an idea, i.e. co-creating with other users. It is appropriate to be open minded, remember that people see things differently.

    Please avoid holding debates in your answers as they tend to dilute the quality of the forum.

    For brief discussion, or to thank someone for their answer, please post comments, not answers.
  • How to use Tags?
  • The owner of the idea can add tags. These tags help to categorize the ideas which helps others to find similar ideas.
  • How does SmartWeb use the ideas internally?
  • First and foremost this forum is used for inspiration . We evaluate the ideas and comments in terms of cost/benefit. So if the positive effects exceed the costs of implementing, then we will do what we can to adresse the demand.
  • What about all the ideas that were sent directly to SmartWeb?
  • We still take care of the ideas that we have received beforehand. These ideas cannot be translated directly to the new platform because they don't have an owner. We want to replace the old one-way communication with this community which is based on a two-ways conversation.
  • Who moderates this community?
  • The short answer is: you. This website is moderated by the users. Points system allows users to earn rights to perform a variety of moderation tasks.
  • How do SmartWeb employees engage in the community?
  • SmartWeb employees can post, comment and answer ideas. This does not mean that the employees will engage in every idea, but if it is relevant then the community is open for everyone.
  • Why is SmartWeb Ideas open for everyone?
  • First of all, SmartWeb interacts with many people across different levels. For instance one of our integration partners could have valuable ideas and comments and doesn't necessarily have a SmartWeb account. Furhermore new customers or customers who use other e-commerce platforms may have valuable ideas or want to see what is in-progress.
  • How does the point system work?
  • When a question or answer is voted up, the user who posted it will gain points. These points serve as a rough measure of the community trust in that person. Various moderation tasks are gradually assigned to the users based on those points.

    For example, if you ask an interesting question or useful answer, it will likely be voted up. On the other hand if the question is poorly-worded or the answer is misleading - it will likely be voted down. Each up vote on a question will generate 1 points. The following table lists points gained per activity:

    Posting a question: + 2 points
    Selecting an answer for your question: + 3 points
    Per up vote on your question: + 1 points
    Per down vote on your question: - 1 points
    Limit from up votes on each question: + 10 points
    Limit from down votes on each question: 3 points
    Posting an answer: + 4 points
    Having your answer selected as the best: + 30 points
    Per up vote on your answer: + 2 points
    Per down vote on your answer: - 2 points
    Limit from up votes on each answer: + 20 points

  • How to change my picture (gravatar), and what is gravatar?
  • The picture that appears in user profiles is called a gravatar, which means globally recognized avatar.

    Here is how it works: You upload your picture (or your favorite alter ego image) to the website from where we later retrieve your image using a cryptographic key based on your email address.

    This way all the websites you trust can show your image next to your posts and your email address remains private.

    Please personalize your account with an image - just register at (just please be sure to use the same email address that you used to register with us). The default gray image is generated automatically.
